In 2004, I helped start a theater company. In 2005, I produced my own original musical. This year I'm heightening the drama by training to run the 2006 Boston Marathon. I'll be recording the whole process and releasing it as an internet podcast, and better yet, I'll be doing it on behalf of The American Liver Foundation, as a member of Run for Research. ALF actively encourages local, state, and federal policymakers to advance medical research and public health education programs, and sponsors research on ways to treat horrifying diseases such as Hepatitis, Primary Biliary Cirrhosis and Liver Disease. What better way to make a long-standing dream come true than to do it for a good cause? Check out the Marathon Minute podcast below, and tune in each week for my updates from the trail.
If you are in the spirit to help me achieve my fundraising goals, you can sponsor me online right now with a credit card at MakeADonation.com. It's a secure transaction, and tax-deductible too. I'll also be doing a letter-writing campaign, so if you'd rather go old-school, send your name and postal address to peter@peterfernandez.net and I'll mail you a sponsorship form. Consider it a wager with no backlash. Pledge a buck a mile, or any total amount you wish. You'll be banking on a healthier liver in the future, and giving me a challenge that will get me to the finish line. Thanks in advance for any contributions you might muster. The Liver Foundation does important work, and your support will help me stay inspired during distance training in the frigid months ahead. Thanks again for your support, and I'll see you on the trail! Peter
